Government Advocacy

Join the TSC Alliance’s Government Action Team and help us advocate for Federal funding for TSC research by reaching out to your US Senators and Representatives through emails, phone calls or meetings.

Location:

United States This position can be done from home.  Optional travel includes visits to your local district offices and/or Washington DC for the annual TSC Alliance March on Capitol Hill

Time Requirements:

As needed. Our Government Action Team is committed to answering the TSC Alliance calls-to-action that can take place any time of the year, but primarily occur annually in the months of February and March. These calls-to-action normally involve reaching out to your Senator or Representative in regards to supporting the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Research Program in the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program within the Department of Defense.

In addition, the TSC Alliance holds an annual March on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC the first week of March.  Attending this event involves training calls leading up to the event, securing and attending Congressional appointments, completing feedback and follow-up associated with appointments, and coordination with other attendees from your state. If you are interested in attending the March on Capitol Hill please contact Katie Smith at ksmith@tscalliance.org.
Please note: There is a cost associated with this event.

Skill Set Required:

Interest in advocating for TSC research funding and raising TSC awareness among elected officials. Ability to communicate clearly via phone, email or in-person meetings.
