Ashley is a nurse-practitioner healthcare professional and leader with 17 years of experience in nursing, specializing in improving clinical care outcomes for individuals and families affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). As the Director of Medical Affairs at the TSC Alliance, she leads quality improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing patient care. Her recent projects have concentrated on critical areas such as SUDEP, reproductive and perinatal health, transition of care, and enhancing recognition processes for TSC Clinics and Centers of Excellence. Ashley’s led teams in the development and implementation of the TSC Navigator and TSC Navigator Guidebooks, which are invaluable resources that empower individuals and families to navigate the complex healthcare system associated with TSC. As a clinician and advocate, Ashley is committed to addressing health disparities and advancing patient-centered outcomes by facilitating access to clinical care, FDA-approved treatments, clinical research trials, and retrospective research projects for TSC. As a recognized expert in her field, Ashley has also authored research on racial differences in dermatological manifestations of TSC and their implications for diagnosis and care and advocated for medicine access changes on state and federal levels.

Ashley’s dedication to advancing healthcare extends beyond her role at the TSC Alliance. She earned her MS in Nursing from Purdue University in 2018 and has since demonstrated leadership in various capacities, including serving as the co-chair for the Reproductive and Perinatal Health Initiative, North American representative on the ILAE Nursing Section: Best Practices in Clinical Care and the Co-Chair of the Baptist Memorial Healthcare – DeSoto Advanced Practice Provider Council, and Advanced Practice Council for West Cancer Center & Research Institute in Memphis, TN. She has played integral roles in organizing significant events to elevate the role of nursing in patient care including the TSC Nursing Conference in 2018 and the Nursing Symposium in 2022 at the TSC World Conference. In addition to her leadership at the TSC Alliance, Ashley serves as a Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist at West Cancer Center & Research Institute in Memphis, TN.

Ashley’s contributions have been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Daisy Award (2016) for her compassionate changes benefiting the TSC patient population and the Advanced Practice Provider Emerging Leader Award (2023) from Baptist Memorial Healthcare – Desoto. She is also the recipient of the Iris Award (2024) from the Baptist Memorial Healthcare – DeSoto Advanced Practice Provider Council. Ashley’s expertise and passion lie in addressing healthcare disparities and social determinants of health, particularly in rare disorders TSC/LAM and oncological conditions, with a special focus on women’s health & perinatal outcomes in underserved communities.
