The TSC Alliance® is aware of the current supply issue with Sabril Oral Solution, 500 mg packets; it does NOT affect Sabril tablets 500mg. Lundbeck estimates this issue will be resolved in January 2024.
- If you or your loved one is on the oral solution and currently experiencing drug shortage issues, we recommend the following actions:
- Notify your prescribing provider’s office immediately if you are currently out of medication.
- If you have less than 14 day’s supply left of your current prescription, please notify your dispensing pharmacy to see if it has supplies to fill your order.
- If it can provide your refill, ask what the earliest date is you can get your monthly supply and request your refill for that date.
If your pharmacy will not be able to refill your prescription or is aware of the shortage but not confident it will be able to supply your refill, notify your prescribing provider’s office to let them know you’re at risk of not having your prescription filled due to the shortage, then discuss alternative options for your or your loved one’s medication.
We are not currently aware of any supply issues with the generic vigabatrin oral solution 500mg packets. We have reached out to one generic supplier, Upsher-Smith Laboratories,
