Call for Nominations: 2017 Manuel R. Gomez Award
Nominations are being accepted until April 15, 2017, for the Manuel R. Gomez Award. This award is given in memory of Manuel R. Gomez, MD, the “Father of TSC” in the USA. Dr. Gomez provided care and compassion for hundreds of individuals with TSC during his career, and he sparked interest in the diagnosis and clinical care of individuals with TSC. A nominee should be someone who has made a significant impact on our understanding of TSC in research and/or impacted the delivery of clinical care for individuals with TSC.

PREVeNT Trial Enrolling Participants
The Preventing Epilepsy Using Vigabatrin in Infants with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (PREVeNT) trial, led by Martina Bebin at the University of Alabama Birmingham, is continuing to enroll participants at seven sites across the country.
TSC Biosample Repository Update – March 2017
Our TSC Biosample Repository now has 203 blood samples from individuals with TSC (and some parents of children with TSC who do not have TSC themselves). These samples are linked to detailed clinical data in the TSC Natural History Database. High-quality biosamples and their associated clinical data will enable researchers to discover biomarkers, establish human cell lines or tissue arrays for drug testing, and search for clues to understand why TSC is so different from person to person.
